Who runs TheBuddyTeam and why it exists
I am Nicolas, based in southwestern France. I work in IT, I am a technology enthusiast, and outside work I do CrossFit and mountain biking. I have been missing a platform like this for the last ten years because I do not have a ready-made mountain bike group of friends to propose outings to.
Who built it
TheBuddyTeam is built and run by Nicolas. You can reach me at nicolas@thebuddyteam.com. This is an independent project created by someone who actually wants a better way to find local people for outdoor sport.
Why it exists
This exists because finding compatible local people for cycling, running, hiking, or mountain biking is still harder than it should be. The goal is simple: make it easier to propose an outing, find the right people nearby, and build real local sport communities.
What data is collected and what is not monetized
The site collects the basic information needed to make matching and coordination work, such as your profile details, sport preferences, availability, outing information, and messages. It does not sell your data, it does not run ads, and it is not being built around data resale. I have a full-time job, the running cost is low for the foreseeable future, and I do not need to monetize this website.
How to suggest improvements
If something feels missing, unclear, or broken, send feedback to nic@thebuddyteam.com. The product should improve from real usage, especially from people trying to organize local outdoor activities with less friction.
How communities and clubs can use it
Local communities, informal groups, and clubs can use TheBuddyTeam as a lightweight coordination layer: publish outings, help new people find the right level, keep group sizes clear, and make it easier for members or newcomers to join without needing an existing friend circle first.
